Swamp Thing
s/t 7"
6131 Records
Time for something tough!
6131 Records has released records for bands like Bane, Touche Amore, 50 Lions, Make Do And Mend and Cruel Hand among tens of others, so every time we get a new release from them we do not expect something less than simply great stuff.
And here we are, exclusively listening to and reviewing the brand new Swamp Thing self-titled 7" (which is about to be released asap). Swamp Thing come from Richmond, Virginia, and this is their 3rd release so far, following a full length album and a 7", both taken care by 6131 Records.
The new piece of wax includes 4 songs - lasting around 6-7 minutes - of in your face, relentless, heavy and tough hardcore music, that fans of bands like Bracewar, Trash Talk, Mother Of Mercy and Modern Life Is War will undoubtedly dig.
The rhythm section is freakin' tight, guitar riffs are sharp and edgy, while the vocals are harsh enough to make you beat your fist against your own head.
Moreover, there's a rocking edge in all songs, but especially in song no.4 (that's I Know You) that will drive you crazy.
I keep listening to Swamp Thing's new shit in my iPod for half an hour now (that means pushing repeat 5 times) and I can't stop at all.
Great stuff to wave you goodnight.
