This Is A Standoff is the new band of Steve and Graham, former members of one of the best punk rock bands of Canada, Belvedere. They were formed in 2006 and they also feature ex-members of Forty Cent Fix and Inventing The Wheel.
"Be Disappointed" is their 2nd full length album that just hit the streets in Europe, released by the legendary label Funtime Records and follows up their first full length entitled "Be Excited" that was released 2 years ago...
The new TIAS album includes 13 songs of fast, melodic & catchy punk rock music, showing the band's technical skills with uncompromising breaks and fast forward rhythms.
All songs are rad and stick in your mind forevah; especially, the guitar harmonies are simply awesome and undoubtedly fresher than ever.
I really like the lyrics a lot, because they are thought - provoking and cope with socially issues, along with personal ones of course. "This song is recycled" is about enviroment and what we can do to save our planet, while "Trails of white" is a kick 'n' punch to all the bands / rock stars that try to rule the punk rock scene and care only for their coke & money...
This Is A Standoff have the potential to become one of today's leading bands in the punk rock scene and they are already claiming their crown by touring constantly in all over the world and playing big festivals.
Nowadays, they tour Europe, having already played in Groezrock fest (with No Fun At All, NOFX, Get Up Kids and lotsa more) and Riorock fest (with Madbal and Ten Foot Pole, among others). They tour the States along with Strung Out & Death By Stereo (plus a bunch of shows with No Use For A Name), just after the European tour finishes...
By the way, they are playing in AN Club, Athens tomorrow, and they'll be more than happy to catch ya there!
