Pour Habit
Suiticide CD
Fat Wreck Chords
So-Cal punk rock back on the map!
I firstly saw Pour Habit as a support act for NOFX in London some months ago and even though they did not make such an impression to me, their 'Suiticide' CD is a fucking cool piece of Californian punk rock.
The album (their debut one) was firstly self-released in 2007, but Fat Mike decided to re-release it the previous May, after Pour Habit signing to his label.
Consequently, the band transformed from playing with their friends Authority Zero and Guttermouth in their area, Compton / CA, to joining forces with NOFX, No Use For A Name and Strung Out in tours all over the world.
'Suiticide' was recorded in a week (!) and includes 11 songs of technical punk rock in the vein of Propagandhi, The Offspring and Strung Out, while their vocalist strongly reminds me of Dexter Holland from The Offspring fame.
The hit of the record is obviously the reggae/punk/hardcore hymn called 'Zion'!
All in all a very nice release, setting again the focus on South California!
The band is about to release a new full length anytime soon, stay tuned.
