The Ice
'Touching the void' MCD
Countdown Records
The Ice rules, true.
They feature (ex-) members of Cheap Thrills and Settle The Score.
The Ice continue the path that Justice paved.
They put in the blender Justice (of course), some Cro-Mags, some Supertouch, solos, tons of rocking music, metal stitches and even 70s hard rock.
Their music is unique after all. This is not your typical hardcore band; it's technical enough, super melodic, focusing on amazing guitar riffs.
I can't relate them to the European hardcore scene at all.
Maybe only Said & Done from Belgium can be in their side (musically).
I seldom listen to a flawless record in its entirety and 'Touching The Void' is one of those rare times for sure.
There's an amazing digipack case illustrated by Avalanche designs (whoiscracking.com), too. Pre-orders came who a huge poster, I'm frustrated for missing this...
I'm proud that my buddy Luca released this via Countdown Records.
